Our Trip to New Jersey 2018

We had a great trip to visit Brent and Loni.  We spent two days in Washington DC.  We visited the Smithsonian museums of art, armerican history, natural science and space and flight.  We also visited our Nation's capitol.  Sunday was very rainy.  We attended our church meetings.  Craig bore a beautiful testimony.  We heard the Sacrament blessed in french.  Craig met some people from New Zealand who were from a part of New Zealand where he had served.  It was great to be there.  It was a very diverse ward.  We visited the Lincoln Memorial and the Jefferson Memorial in the pouring rain, but were glad we could see them.  We ate lasagne in our hotel room kitchen and spent the evening in our nice hotel room in Georgetown.  When we returned to New Jersey, Brent took us to see West Point.  What a beautiful place! The next day, we went to see the Thomas Edison National Park where he did much of his work.  The best thing we saw were the Botanical Gardens in New York city.  It was lovely!  We walked the girls to school and we had a nice visit.

May 2018

May was also an eventful month, Kevin got his PHD., and Merynne graduated from  High school. I
had a lovely mother's  day and Memorial day.  It was great to see Ian open his mission call.  What a lot of blessings we have had this month.

Congratulations Kevin!

Everyone is grateful to see it completed.

We enjoyed Grant's Jazz band concert.

Debbie painted this pretty design on my newly painted hope chest.

What a beautiful Mother's day cake.

Our Trip to Michigan 2018

April 23, 2018

We spent five days in Michigan visiting Emily and her family.  We visited the Detroit Institute of Art.
We all enjoyed that, even Gwenda.  The best part was the formal dinner from the 1800's we got to experience through a simulation.  We went to Greenfield village.  The little girls loved the carousel and the train. Gwenda loved the big slippery slide on the playground.  It was fun to watch her go down that slide over and over.  She is a fearless little girl. We were so grateful for good weather.  We needed coats,  but it was sunny and pleasant.
We played miniature golf on Saturday.  I got a hole in one.  I was pleased.  One of the nicest  things we did was attend the temple with Emily and Olivia.  We did baptisms for the dead.  We had many nice meals and we enjoyed attending church with them on Sunday.  We watched some good movies together and we were able to do some reading.  It was good to have a little vacation.
