June 3, 2013
Today, Craig went to the doctor to get a prescription for a sinus infection.  We got groceries and ran a few other errands.  In the afternoon,  we attended a special zone p-day activity, a barbeque and a sports day.  I visited with two memorable people.  Elder Chong, a young man from Singapore and Sam a woman in her forties I had been seeing at several activities recently.  Elder Chong told me about his family and how his mother had died of cancer not too long after he came on his mission.  He is a very good man and I admire his dedication to his mission, in spite of losing his mother.  Sam is a single sister in her forties.  She works and takes care of her mother.  She also serves whenever she can at missionary activities.  She is always preparing food and cleaning up and enjoying being with the missionaries.  She joined the church nineteen years ago.  She told me she has been so blessed by her membership that she wants to help wherever she can and she considers the missionaries as her family.  She is warm and friendly and one of the happiest people I have ever seen.  She is a great example of goodness and being anxiously engaged in a good cause.  I really admire her.
