Happy 4th of July

July 4, 2016

We had a fun day yesterday.  Craig and I marched in the parade with the young missionaries and a smaller group of senior couples.  It was a great experience even though we were pretty tired when we were done.  I'm grateful I could make it all the was.  The highlight for me was seeing Danica and her children toward the end of the parade and giving them a hug.
In the evening, our Utah children came over and we had Kentucky fried chicken with lots of other good food, including homemade ice-cream with raspberries.  We had family home evening together and did fireworks.  It was especially fun to see Marshall's delight with the fireworks.  The older boys enjoyed having a turn to light some.

Johnson Family Reunion

June 18, 2016

Lindon park was the site for this year's Johnson Reunion.  It was a very hot day, but I think people enjoyed themselves in spite of it.  Marshall and Andrea took great delight in splashing themselved with cold water from the ice chest.  The snow cones furnished by Ed's family also helped.  We had people from all the families but Pauline's.  We had hot dogs and sloppy joes, lots of good salads and yummy desserts.  We did a family history program and just enjoyed catching up with what has been going on with people.  I hope Mom and Dad were there in spirit.  They would have been pleased.

Our trip to Indiana and Nauvoo

June 13, 2016

We had a nice trip to see Debbie and her  family.  We so enjoyed going to Nauvoo and meeting Emily there.  Our prayer was answered in being able to see them there.  We had a fun visit and enjoyed doing baptisms for the dead with Katherine and Debbie.   We had a nice Condo while we were there.   We took a carriage ride together, we enjoyed visiting some homes and the temple.  We had a lovely dinner at the Nauvoo Buffet and enjoyed a barbecue at the Condo the next night.  We enjoyed visiting Debbie and Jim's ward on Sunday and met some nice people.  It's seems you always find connections wherever you go.   Debbie and Jim fixed a delicious dinner  for us on Sunday night.  We watched “Once I Was a Beehive” with Katherine and Joseph.  It was good of Ian to drive us to Nauvoo.  We made two visits to the custard shop in Nauvoo.  It was delicious.  Craig and I got to see the BYU folk dancers one evening as well.
